AVERAGE WHITE BAND WITH SPECIAL GUEST BRASS FROM THE PAST

Arcada Theatre 105 E Main St, St. Charles, IL, United States

AWB are widely regarded as one of the best soul and funk bands in the history of music. Though perhaps best known for their timeless instrumental mega-hit ‘Pick Up the Pieces’ the band’s strength actually lay in their consistently accomplished song-writing. The band took the influences of their R&B heroes – people like Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Donny Hathaway and others – and developed their own ‘authentic’ sound. Notable hits include “Cut The Cake”, “Let’s Go ‘Round Again”, “Schoolboy Crush”, and “Person to Person” to name a few.

The current lineup of the band, with noted US musicians alongside founding members Alan Gorrie and Onnie McIntyre, continues to delight audiences and critics alike in its wide – ranging touring. The musical energy and trademark sound are remarkably true to the original, and with constant revisitations and re-workings of AWB’s, and others’ classics in the mix, it is no surprise that the Average White Band is now a multi – generational attraction, and a perennial fixture with so many of the top music venues. Band members are Cliff Lyons (Alto sax, keyboards, vocals), Rob Aries (Keyboard, bass), Onnie McIntrye (Guitar, vocals), Brent Carter (Lead vocals), Alan Gorrie (Lead vocals, bass, guitar), Rocky Bryant (Drums), and Fred “Freddy V” Vigdor (Tenor Sax, keyboards, vocals).

KINGS X // VINNIE MOORE

Arcada Theatre 105 E Main St, St. Charles, IL, United States

After a sold-out show in 2023, King’s X is an Arcada Theatre favorite that returns with its powerful progressive metal, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by gospel, blues, and British Invasion rock groups. With a cult-following, deep-meaning lyrics and rockin-loud riffs, King’s X was ranked No. 83 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock! Notable hits include “Out of the Silent Planet”, “Lost In Germany”, “Life Going By”, and so many more!

Once Vinnie Moore picked up his first guitar at the age of 12, he became, as he describes it, a “guitar freak.” His earliest influences included – among others – Jeff Beck, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Queen. As a performer, Vinnie Moore’s resume is impressive! A member of Alice Cooper’s band, he toured the U.S. on the Operation Rock ‘N Roll tour, and also performed on Alice’s album Hey Stoopid. Vinnie’s own band has toured extensively as a headliner and also was chosen as opening act for legendary rockers Rush on the Northeast leg of their Roll The Bones Tour. In 2003, Vinnie joined the legendary group UFO and remains with the group today.

GREAT WHITE // SLAUGHTER

Arcada Theatre 105 E Main St, St. Charles, IL, United States

For Great White to continue to thrive 40 years in the music business, the mantra must be, these songs are bigger than any one member. GRAMMY nominated hard rock legends, Great White, are adding onto that line with the saying: expect the unexpected. It’s rock and roll, baby. The peaks and the valleys haven’t stopped– nor has the music. Great White’s ride runs deep and its passion for the music goes beyond any depth. To experience their hits live in concert – “Rock Me,” “Mista Bone,” “Save Your Love,” “House of Broken Love,” and “Lady Red Light”—is to ride an emotional wave of sultry connections, arousing lyrics, and an all-out marathon of hard-hitting orchestrations. Audiences might also hear tracks like “Stick It”, “The Angel Song”, “Big Time” or one of the many deep cuts from Great White’s 13 studio albums.

1990 SLAUGHTER hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado- coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands that they loved, Kiss, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, “Up All Night” certainly fit into that mold, their second chart-topper, “Fly To The Angels” was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band’s music and lyrics. But never were SLAUGHTER more accurately represented that live onstage in front of their legions of devoted fans over the last ten years! SLAUGHTER has shown that with perseverance and sheer talent, a band can survive and win over the support of fans, regardless of what others may say about the quality of their music. What’s most important is that their music is still here and the vast majority of critics who panned them in the past are not, and that’s as good as gold.
