Laurel and Hardy Film Festival

There will be $10 tickets for the film festival only, or $25 tickets that include the film festival as well as a fantastic Italian lunch:
Italian Antipasto Salad, Homemade Cheese Ravioli or Penne Pasta with “Sunday” meat Gravy (meatless also available), Ron’s Meatballs, Sausage and Peppers, Garlic Bread and a Cannoli to finish!
Live accompaniment will be provided during the films by Jay Warren on the historic 1920’s Arcada Theatre Organ!
Films being shown:
Bacon Grabbers (1929 – silent film) – Laurel & Hardy with Edgar Kennedy and Jean Harlow. As sheriff’s office attachment men, Stan and Ollie must repossess a radio from an uncooperative tough guy. (The Chicago Bacon Grabbers, the local chapter of the Sons of the Desert, is named after this film and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.)
Big Business (1929 – silent film) – Laurel & Hardy with James Finlayson. Laurel & Hardy are door-to-door Christmas tree salesmen who get the cold shoulder from several potential customers.
Sons of the Desert (1933 – feature film) – Laurel & Hardy with Mae Busch and Charley Chase. Stan and Ollie are members of a fun-loving lodge who sneak away from their wives to attend a convention in Chicago. (The Sons of the Desert, the international Laurel & Hardy appreciation society, was founded and named after this film.)
